Provide at the start of your course at WC, an induction to welcome you to our libraries and resources and to continue to offer support throughout your studies

Provide material for you to use in your learning and to support you in developing your searching, evaluating, referencing and research skills

Give you the means of providing feedback on what we do and how we can improve our services to meet your needs

Treat all library staff and users with respect and courtesy and follow all WC Library policies

Always share your WC ID and to show it to university staff when asked.

WC Library is a single room and therefore there are no suitable areas for silent or group study: all users of the library are asked to study quietly and with respect to the needs of others using the space.

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, or drinking of alcohol is prohibited

BORROWING RULES

Borrowing rights for up to three books on a two-week loan

Renewal is available for one week more

Return borrowed items to the library when you have finished with them and take responsibility for any reserved, lost or damaged items borrowed on your name

It is your responsibility to ensure all Library items are returned on time and that all items are returned when your card expires at the end of the period

Abide by copyright law and acceptable use polices when copying from books, journals and other materials in our library and when accessing digital resources

Borrowers are responsible for all items issued to their ID number. This responsibility only ends when the item has been recorded as returned

Missing, lost, stolen or destroyed items on loan must be replaced by the borrower. Please contact the library to follow instructions.
GENERAL BEHAVIOUR

Behave appropriately and treat others with respect:

Respect Library rules including the use of mobile phones and food and drink

Respect silent study areas, talk quietly anywhere else in the library

Use equipment for study purposes only

Report any equipment damage or faults (including the discovery of computer viruses), and any damage to learning materials, to the library team immediately so that we can take speedy action

Be aware of Library service hours and leave the building promptly at closing times

The maintenance of a clean and pleasant learning environment is important to those who use our facilities

Vacate the building immediately on hearing the fire alarm

Always keep your possessions with you and do not leave them unattended at any time
